Sinagua indian farmers began construction of the 5 story, 20 room cliff dwelling in the 1100's. For over 3 centuries they resided at this site. Sometime during the 1400's, they departed.

Only one motion picture has filmed at this site, "Flaming Feather". After the production companies departure, it was decided that no further filming would occur in the castle.
